Plan trips way in advance!!!
First off, unless you just crave for the unexpected, every trip you plan should be long before it happens. Now, I’m not saying you can’t decide to go to the lake this weekend if you did not plan it ahead of time. What I’m trying to say is financially, it is smart to plan trips way in advance. In my opinion, a weekend away from your hometown is not and should not be costly. Therefore, I do not consider that a trip. Now, if you want to go on a real vacation and travel the world, or to different parts of your country, then that to me is a trip.
What trip should I plan for??
If you are not 100 percent sure you will be able to go on a certain trip, DO NOT plan it. That’s the first rule! However, if you aren’t sure a particular trip will work out for you, but the deposit to save your spot is refundable, BOOK IT!!
For example, I just signed up for a trip next summer to Mexico to visit the beach and awesome water. Do I know my plans for next summer yet? No. The deposit was only two-hundred bucks and it was refundable. So, without a question, I saved my seat. The only thing you have to be careful when reserving a seat for yourself like this is to be aware of when the last day your money is refundable. Our lives change and if for some reason you aren’t able to go on the trip as you originally thought, you need to make sure you are still able to receive that deposit back.
